What Are We Expecting from Others That Causes Us Disappointments?

Don’t want to read post, try listening to our audio version!

Do we expect close friends and family members
to always agree with us, respond to what we have imagined, or do we want their
genuine opinion?

Do we expect close friends and family members
to share the same opinion as us, or do we accept their advice?

Do we always expect them to be supportive
of us, no matter the choices we make?

Do we expect more from others than we expect
of ourselves?

Do we blame others for not fulfilling our
desires?

Are we expecting the A in the class because
we studied for a few hours?

Do we expect to get in the top schools
because we were the smartest in our school district?

Are we expecting someone else to make us
happy when we have no idea what makes us happy?

Do we give freely to others and not expect
anything in return?

Do we leave a job because we expected a
promotion, didn’t get it and blamed others? Did we even stop to reflect on
our actions?

Take time to answer the questions truthfully
and you will:

  • Have some answers as to who you are and the areas to improve.
  • Begin to spend time with self to grow mentally.
  • Learn to not depend on other people’s validations.
  • Understand what makes you happy.

AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!

We are stronger together. How will you rise? I am here and listening.

  1. This is a good post. I haven’t thought about some of the questions when I am angry with someone.

A good place for me to start.
